I have had a local man threaten to slash my tyres and threaten us with “you never know what could happen at night when you are asleep”
This was in our early days of van life, I was parked legally near the sea but near a block of ‘posh flats’ he lived in the basement
and basement or not, I wasn’t interrupting his view or anyone else’s, not only that, he had no idea if I was going to stay the night as this was morning…
I initially told him he would regret it if he did anything but then couldn’t walk into town and leave van, was just so annoying, so I phoned the police, told them of his threats and they told me it would be better to ‘just move on’….. they wouldn’t even talk to him…. unreal!
That sounds awful hope you havnt had anything like that happen again. Police should have spoken to him with those threats.
@dubventures less paperwork to move me on I guess… might need to empty my toilet one day….

I saw some vans in Portland they put camo netting over it, but it looked static, maybe a fake camera would scare them off,

Where was it that you had this problem. We have had no problems like this but however you don’t need to be in a motorhome to encounter a situation like this. It’s also best to share some space together with one or two other motorhome owners but however people say that local authority’s don’t encourage this but we have had no problems doing it.

After 20 years as a trucker sleeping in lay-bys, industrial estates, middles of know where across Europe the one thing I’d say is never get out. The minute you step into the unknown the games up. When your in the vehicle with the option to move, honk horns, make noise, stay safe then your in semi control..you step out your fucked. I don’t care how big or hard you are. You won the fight and they leave… Trust me you’ll not sleep a wink waiting for them to come back. Best thing you can do is always park safely to begin with and sadly that’s not in the middle of know where anymore. It’s in a well lit secure area.. beyond that make sure you can drive out if needed
